“ Surprisingly outstanding Mexican fare in tiny nondescript restaurant in Monticello, ID. The staff was friendly and attentive to all our needs and the atmosphere was fun and inviting. The food was awesome, beginning with complimentary salsa, refried beans and house made tortilla chips. My meal consisted of 2 Enchiladas, one shredded beef and one a savory spicy pork, served with refried beans and rice topped with cheese and a side of sour cream. There's a variety of meat choices available from the aforementioned spicy pork and shredded beef as well as beef steak, ground beef and chicken. To drink I had a bottled sangria, one of my favs. The menu (posted in photos) is large, I'd like to experience many of the dishes and hope to return again. ”
“ Great overall vibes from the friendly host greeting you as you walk in to the eccentric server you can tell El Jaliciense is a genuine family owned and operated restaurant. The chips and salsa is very tasty I’m sure it’s homemade. I ordered the Molcajete with beef and chicken fresh ingredients with a unique delicious flavor. Also ordered at our table were their enchiladas and steak fajitas. You can tell everyone was pleased with their dinner. Well worth the stop if you’re in the area and hungry. ”

“ Very good authentic Mexican food. While we were staying in Montpelier for a little over a month while working, we ate here several times. The food was awesome. The service was good and staff was friendly. It was a little dirty with food and straw wrappers on the floor but the tables were clean. To access the restroom you have to go outside and around the back of the building to get in. ”
